Halloween Tournament 2020 at the Palace

Dear friends of the Palace,

This is the start of our official Tournament Countdown for 2020: Three are remaining, and the Halloween Tournament on October 31, 2020, marks the beginning. So get dressed up, join the Party at 8:30 pm CET, and give your opponents the shivers! Of course, only using your skills 😉

Participation

All Pinochle players are now received in the ranks of tournament players. Welcome, once again! Hence, the Halloween Tournament will take place in the following games:

Skat 3 players per table
Rummy 4 players per table
Doppelkopf 4 players per table
Sheepshead 4 players per table
Canasta 4 players per table
Mau-Mau 4 players per table
Solitaire 4 players per table
Pinochle 4 players per table

Depending on the game, 200  to 450 players can play per group in every game. When the maximum of players is exceeded, the next group will open automatically. This way, everyone can partake for a bet of only one Chip! Of course, you will face tenacious opponents. But if you come out on top in your game, appreciation and exclusive prizes await you.

Registration

Sign up for the tournament via the game you want to compete in as of now. To do so, enter your desired game, and continue step by step:

On a tablet or smartphone

1. Click Options.

2. Click Competition.

3. Click Tournaments.

4. Scroll until you see the tournament titled Halloween Tournament and click Enroll.

3. Scroll until you see the tournament titled Halloween Tournament and click Enroll.

Attention: In older Pinochle versions, this tournament might be displayed as Standard Tournament.

To take part in the tournament, you just need to be online in your game on October 31, 2020, shortly before 8:30 pm CET and enter the tournament.

Prizes

There will be exclusive Palace of Cards certificates, numerous Premium days, and a jackpot with up to 10,000 Chips. We lovingly design the certificates exclusively for this occasion! All winners of the places one to three receive one as a PDF:

All winners means several play groups per tournament are possible: If 540 players registered for Sheepshead, the tournament would be held in three groups with a maximum of 200 players each.

As a result, there would be three first places, three second places, and three third places. Each play group has its separate jackpot. It will be noted in your certificate, in which play group you were successful.

The jackpot and the Premium days will be split among the winners per group. Usually, the first place receives 70% of the Chips in the pot and 90 Premium days, the second place 20% and 60 Premium days, and the third place 10% and 30 Premium days.

If two players in the same playgroup win the same score, double placements can occur. In this case, the distribution of prizes changes slightly. This is always communicated clearly in our update post on the winners.

You have probably read about our official Palace of Cards Tournaments in this blog before. After all, we held five official tournaments since the premiere in the summer of 2019!

If you have not, it is about time: You get to play for an exceptionally large Chips jackpot contributing a fairly low bet. Sometimes, we come up with something extra. There are plenty of participants each time, so join in!

 

Open your agenda and save the dates:

After making time for the tournaments, you need to sign up, of course! You can do so in your desired game as of now. Enter your game, and continue step by step:

Prizes

As a rule, our official tournaments come with a jackpot with up to 10,000 Chips, numerous Premium days, and exclusive Palace of Cards certificates, lovingly designed exclusively for this occasion, for all winners.

The jackpot and the Premium days are split among the winners of each play group. Usually, the first place receives 70% of the Chips in the pot and 90 Premium days, the second place 20% and 60 Premium days, and the third place 10% and 30 Premium days.

All winners mean several play groups per tournament are possible: When the maximum of registered players is exceeded, another play group will open automatically. As a result of this and even scores within one group, several players can be in the same place.

Something Extra

As stated above, some official tournaments are created with something extra:

The Chips Rush Tournament does not carry this name in vain: It is about nothing but Chips – and plenty of them! You can see how many Chips the pot holds in the game’s tournament list.

And the Christmas Tournament is coming in ASS Altenburger style.

Leveling at the Horizon

The beta test ended today, on October 29, 2020. You supported us much during the last week. Hence, we thank you for participating and your suggestions!

We collected everything and will put it to good use – optimizing the leveling system for you. Of course, we will update you here when the feature is being released!

Dear friends of the Palace,

Today we take another look forward to the upcoming changes in our games. We are working on a significant addition, which will enable you to adjust your game’s appearance to your wishes. And if you like, you can try it out as of now in the beta test!

We want to reward our loyal regular players. Thus far, you can collect league points, Chips, and stars at the Palace. Those represent different aspects of playing. This year, we want to open another segment – leveling for experience. Work on this is well underway!

Gather Experience

It works as follows: You will collect experience points (XP) for each round, no matter if won or lost. You cannot lose XP you gained! As a result, players who come by often and spend time playing at the Palace, like our regulars, gather many XP in the long run. Players stopping by occasionally will take a little longer to level up.

Though every table fundamentally brings experience points, we want to reward a victory and thereby skill even more. Accordingly, you will score more XP when winning a table. Additionally, venturing gains. Hence, your XP will increase even more at tables with higher bets!

Experience Comes in Levels

With certain numbers of XP, you will reach levels. Your level will be displayed in your profile, similar to the stars ranking right now. Also, you will see your level at the top of the lobby at all times. Finally, you will get a summary of the XP you gained at the end of every table and see if you reached the next level.

Treat Yourselves

With levels reached, you unlock exclusive rewards in the game: We are thinking Chips, frames for your profile picture, skins for the tables at the Palace, and individual patterns for the back of the playing cards.

Using these elements, you can match the game’s look to your taste and impress your fellow players with your framed profile picture! What is best about it: You get all these contents for free, by simply taking part in the game and collecting XP.

The Beta Test

We want to provide you with the best possible experience! And we can only do that with you, the player community. To join testing, you can play a beta version at the Skat Palace, Solitaire Palace, and Rummy Palace until October 29, 2020. With a test like this, we are able to identify any bumps and smooth them.

That means you will be entering a dedicated environment where the leveling system is already running. You can access the beta version when playing via browser or on android devices.

If you want to join later, you will also get the chance to enter the beta via a notification at the Palace.

Click the link in the notification, and you are good to collect experience points, level up, and unlock rewards on a test basis!

If you want to join later, you can find the app you want to check at the Playstore. Now tap it to go to the app detail page.

There you see if a beta version is available. Then, tap Join for the beta version.

You can tell if you are in the normal game or the beta version by looking at the game logo in the lobby. If you see “Beta” written on top of it, you are in the beta version. You can play like you usually do while exploring some changes caused by the leveling system. Meanwhile, we will check if the distribution of XP makes sense, for example. Should any errors or problems occur during the beta test, you will be able to report them in the game immediatly. This way, you are directly contributing to developing new versions!

Chips, star points, and league points that you gain or lose in the beta version will be issued to your player account in the normal game as per usual. Furthermore, you will receive additional free Chips for reaching new levels, which get to keep when the beta phase ends.

Similarly, your positions in the league and, if applicable, Premium membership remain with you in the normal game and the beta version. However, the XP and levels unlocked in the beta test will be deleted once the beta test ends. As a result, all players will equally start from scratch in the leveling system when the feature is officially released.

We are happy to see you are receiving the tournaments so well. With that in mind, it is finally time for another official Palace of Cards Tournament: On August 22, 2020, we will hold our Summer Tournament XXL!

The XXL tournament has especially many series for plenty of gaming fun! Seize the chance, take in the tournament atmosphere, and show everyone how far you get.

Participation

The XXL Summer Tournament will take place in the following games:

Doppelkopf 4 players per table

The XXL Tournament’s special feature is the high number of series. Usually, the official Palace of Cards Tournaments have three series. This time there will be five series! So, make sure to take enough time.

This time, up to 300 players can play in a group in every game. When 300 players are exceeded, the next group will open automatically. Everyone can partake for a bet of only one Chip! We are excited, you are receiving the tournaments so well. As you might have noticed, we especially enjoy holding our official Palace of Cards tournaments on German public holidays! That is why it will be time to play again soon: On June 1, 2020, we will hold our Pentecost Tournament XXL!

The XXL Tournament’s special feature is the high number of series. Usually, the official Palace of Cards Tournaments have three series. This time there will be five series! So, make sure to take enough time.

This time, up to 300 players can play in a group in every game. When 300 players are exceeded, the next group will open automatically. Everyone can partake for a bet of only one Chip! Of course, you will face tenacious opponents. But if you come out on top in your game, appreciation and exclusive prizes await you.

Registration

Sign up for the tournament via the game you want to compete in as of now. To do so, enter your desired game, and continue step by step:

1. Click Advanced.

2. Click Competition.

3. Click Tournaments.

4. Scroll until you see the tournament titled Pfingstturnier and click Enroll.

After this, you just need to be online in your game on June 1, 2020, at 8:30 pm CET to take part in the tournament.

Prizes

There will be exclusive Palace of Cards certificates, numerous Premium days, and a jackpot with up to 10,000 Chips. We lovingly design the certificates exclusively for this occasion! All winners of the places one to three receive one as a PDF:

All winners means several play groups per tournament are possible: When maximum registered players are exceeded, another play group will open automatically. So, if 540 players registered for Sheepshead, the tournament would be held in two groups mith a maximum of 300 players each.

As a result, there would be two first places, two second places, and two third places. Each play group has its separate jackpot. Which play group you were successful in will be noted in your certificate.

The jackpot and the Premium days will be split among the winners. Usually, the first place receives 70% of the Chips in the pot and 90 Premium days, the second place 20% and 60 Premium days, and the third place 10% and 30 Premium days.

Dear friends of the Palace,

We have some upgrades up our sleeves and they are coming soon! These updates will go live as soon as they are ready. Currently, we are polishing and testing all changes, and we expect to begin updating the games over the next weeks. Do not fear – nothing will be turned upside down: We mainly worked on a nicer, more accessible gaming environment for you. Some changes concern several games at once. Others are specific for Skat or Pinochle. Let’s get started with our announcements!

Skat: Timer and Prettier Bidding Interface

At the Skat Palace, you can soon see how much time a player has left for their action.

The looks of our bidding feature will be updated, as well:

Speech Bubbles for Bidding in Skat, Doppelkopf, and Sheepshead

So far, the bidding is displayed in the chat. In the foreseeable future, in Skat, Doppelkopf, and Sheepshead, you will see speech bubbles instead.

New Window for Voting in Nearly All Games

Skat, Doppelkopf, Sheepshead, Solitaire, Spider, Mau-Mau, Rummy, and Canasta will get a fresh new window to vote on playing another game at the same table. Have a look:

In-Game E-Mail Verification for All Games at the Palace

You can verify your profile using your e-mail address in Skat, Doppelkopf, Sheepshead, Pinochle, Solitaire, Spider, Mau-Mau, Rummy, and Canasta.

To this end, you receive a verification e-mail when setting up a new profile at the moment. Since this e-mail gets lost sometimes, you can soon resend it from your profile in the game. This is important since certain features can only be used with a verified profile!

As soon as this is available, you will find a new “Verify” button in your profile in the section „Personal Data“. It will only show up if your profile was not verified yet. When you try to use a feature requiring verification, it will be pointed out to you, and you can request the verification e-mail from there.

Club Feature for Pinochle

Our major announcement concerns Pinochle: The club feature will be here soon! Use it to found and join clubs and take part in the Club League!

When entering the competition area in the future, you can not only select the League but also Clubs. There, your first stop will be the club house, where the clubs you belong to are displayed. By clicking „Create“, you can found your own club.


The club area will have three more sections – the Club League, the search, and your mailbox. In the Club League, all clubs are ranked in relation to one another. Using the menu, you will be able to take a look at the club members, the ranking of members of one club, Champions of your club, and Champions across clubs!

With the search, you will be able to look for clubs, of course. Your mailbox will collect applicants for your club on one side and invitations for you to join further clubs on the other side.
